Despite being a work of fiction by an American, Evangeline went on to shape Acadian history and identity – a thoroughly Aquarian turn of events. The traditional representation of The Star usually features the element of water but Cosmic Faery literally takes a different perspective, panning up from mossy darkness to a view of shimmering heavens. The effect is of a longed-for breath of fresh air, of liberation and expansion – qualities well-suited to the astrological sign of Aquarius, associated with The Star.
I personally favour the Marseille Tarot for readings, but a card like this makes me curious to pick up a RWS-inspired deck again. If The Star is any indication, the rest of the Tarot of Quotes should provide the perfect blend of thought-provoking text and powerful yet open-ended imagery for intuitive reading. This deck is a work in progress – subscribe to Cosmic Faery’s feed to receive progress reports. http://www.cosmictarot.co.uk/ How does Cosmic Faery's version of The Star tarot card stack up against your personal interpretation of the seventeenth card of the Major Arcana? Do you read tarot intuitively, or do you prefer a more traditional approach to reading the complex system of symbols found in the original RWS deck? Let me know by leaving a comment below! |
